Residential Snow Removal
**2019-2020 season: At this time we are not accepting any NEW customers for residential snow removal.
Barnes, Inc. provides residential snow removal services to over 300 customers each and every snowfall. We have a wide variety of different snow removal equipment, and we tailor that equipment to each specific site to reduce the likelihood of damage that can occur when oversized equipment is used. For example, plowing small residential driveways on light snows is not often done, and our use of snow blowers instead of larger equipment such as ATVs and skid steer loaders on sidewalks greatly reduces the risk of damage to these properties. Our shovels are plastic, not metal, to avoid damage to the turf and plantings commonly found adjacent to all hard surfaces.
We further ensure your safety by providing de-icing products for any surfaces. This service is provided at an extra cost to the snow removal, and can be done on an on-call or automatically provided basis. We use treated salt on city sidewalks and most driveways. We apply a product called Professional Ice Melter, which contains sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, and calcium magnesium. We can provide you with a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) if requested on this and/or any product we use throughout the year. We use this product when treating lead up walks to houses where salt can damage carpet, floor, etc, as well as on stamped and colored concrete driveways and sidewalks. The costs are itemized for this service in Section B on our residential snow contracts.
